Why a Checklist Makes the Sale Smoother

Check Icon. Nothing gets forgotten
Plates, toll transponders, personal items, paperwork: the small things are the ones people forget. A checklist means the sale finishes in one visit.
Check Icon. Pickup goes faster
When your paperwork is ready and the car is accessible, our driver can verify, load, and pay in under half an hour in most cases.
Check Icon. You stay protected after the sale
The final steps, like canceling insurance and handling the registration, close out your responsibility for the car completely.

We Make the Checklist Easy

Most of our sellers have never sold a car for junk before, and that is completely fine. Our process is built so that the checklist is short: have your paperwork ready, clear out the car, and be there for pickup. We handle the rest.

With more than 10,000 cars bought across South Florida, our drivers have seen every situation and will walk you through each step at pickup. Call 954-787-5717 and we will tell you exactly what to have ready.

Prepared sellers are typically done in under half an hour: verified, loaded, paid, and the car is gone.

Before You Call: Gather Your Paperwork

Start with the title. If you have it, check that your name is on it and that it is not damaged beyond readability. If the title is lost, gather supporting paperwork: an old registration, insurance cards, or anything tying you to the vehicle. In most cases we can still buy the car. Write down the mileage as well, since buyers always ask for it and having it ready keeps the call short and the offer firm.

Take a few photos of the car, including the VIN plate and the overall condition. Photos help you describe the car accurately on the call, which is how you get a firm offer instead of a guess. Note the year, make, model, mileage, and what is wrong with it.

What to have on hand

Photo ID, the title if you have it, any supporting vehicle paperwork, and your notes on the car's condition. That is the whole list for most sellers.

Preparing the Car for Pickup

Remove all personal belongings: glove box, trunk, under seats, and any aftermarket items you want to keep. Check twice, because once the car is gone, retrieving forgotten items is difficult.

Remove your license plate; in Florida the plate stays with you, not the car. Take off any toll transponder, like a SunPass, so you are not charged for someone else's driving. If the car is in a garage or behind a gate, make sure the driver can reach it, and mention access details when you schedule.

Pickup Day and After the Sale

On pickup day, be available for the driver's call-ahead and have your ID and paperwork ready. The driver verifies the car matches your description, completes the title and bill of sale with you, loads the car, and pays you cash. The visit usually takes under half an hour.

After the sale, cancel your insurance on the vehicle and handle the registration according to your situation. Keep your signed bill of sale with your records. Then enjoy the empty driveway: the whole job, from first call to cash, often finishes the same day. A few minutes of preparation saves real time and keeps the visit to a single smooth appointment.

Checklist for Special Situations

Not every sale is straightforward, and the checklist grows slightly for special cases. If there is no title, add supporting paperwork like an old registration or insurance card. If the car has a lien, confirm the payoff situation before you call so the sale can be coordinated cleanly.

For estate sales, the person signing should have authority to sell, and bringing any estate documents smooths the process. For cars with multiple owners on the title, all listed owners generally need to sign.

No title

Gather any paperwork tying you to the car: old registrations, insurance cards, or purchase records. In most cases we can still buy the car with a photo ID and supporting documents.

Lien or estate

Know your payoff amount or have estate documents handy. Mention the situation when you call and we will tell you exactly what the pickup requires.
